Synchronize your files online and across computers

Published by nimsrules at 1:10 pm under Techno Savy Edit This

Yeah the title says it all , your computer is a mess all files scattered around and most of the disk storage used up . So the question isĀ  how do you manage the important as well as no so important ones ?? And here’s a solution I found while surfing is of an application known as Dropbox. So what the hell does this software do ?

Let me guide you through the features this little gem boasts off :

- Synchronisation : Once you install it you can drop any of your files into your Dropbox and access them online or on another PC where you have your Dropbox installed . So it releives you of carrying those USBs and CDs. It creates a folder just like the one found in your computers in which you can drop your files.

- Backup : Saveyour files in the Dropbox and if you accidentally delete them from your PC you can always retrive them from your Dropbox . Thats a handy feature.

- Speed : It has a very smart way of handling files . Even if you seem to change a huge file . The tool tends to change only a small part of it.

- Security : All the files are transported over SSL and encrypted over AES-256 systems , so no worries of getting them stolen.

The Free accounts come with default 2GB space which you can easily extend upto 50GB by paying 100$/year. You can also get the Dropbox if you own an Iphone. Man these guys have a whole lot of specs in their pockets. You files dropped are given URLs associated with them which you can use to share or download the files whenever necessity felt.
